Growing Potatoes Without Dirt. Kind Of.

Welcome to the potato experiment. I'm growing multiple varieties in ten 17-gallon tote bins sitting on wooden racks inside the greenhouse — no soil, no fertilizer bags from the big box store. Just a custom mix of coco coir and perlite I blended myself in a cement mixer. Why coco coir instead of dirt? I know exactly what's in these bins because I put it there. That's the whole point of this farm. If it works, these potatoes will be available later this year. If it doesn't, I'll tell you that too.
